Old west ballad
An outlaw on the run after a gun fight in Laredo Texas.
I was ridden a big black stallion across the Texas plans.
I was headin for old Mexico in a hard driving rain. I had
to get to the bad lands and hide from the law, cause
I shot a man in Laredo and he didn't even try to draw.
Well I know I did wrong and I'll have to pay for my sin.
When I cross that Rio Grand I can never go back again.
I know in my heart I'll never see my home again.
cause a wanted man can never go back to where he's
ever been.
Laredo Laredo don't you cry for me. I'll be hanging from
the hanging tree and out of my misery
I said Laredo----don't you cry for me. I said Laredo----
don't you cry for me.
Well I'm mighty weary and lonesome, from being all alone.
I wonna head back to Laredo and see my sweet home.
I know the Texas rangers are looking for me still and
if I cross that Texas border I know that I'll be killed.
The man that I shot was a wanted outlaw, but he wasn't
wanted dead or alive so I made a bad call.
If I had it to do again I wouldn't do it the same, I would
leave it to the Rangers and protect my good name.

The longing for my family was more than I could stand
so I saddled up the stallion and crossed the Rio Grand.
the Texas rangers was a waiten on the other side but
nothing could catch the stallion when he reached his
stride.
well the stallion was a running and he was homeward bound,
when he stepped into a chuck hole and threw me to the
ground.
my outlaw days were over and I was sentenced to hang.
I was headed for the hanging tree and I was the only one
to blame.
