Story behind the song
Not making a positive mark in the world scares me. I was thinking how short life is and the meaning of it all. The Rhythm track was Len Boccassini on bass and Phil Rucci on drums and percussion and me on guitar. I had had the song written for a while but hadn't had a serious recording of it. I was in a band with these guys when I was a teen, and we had gotten together in my studio in 2005 for a 20 year reunion. We hadn't played together in 20 years, but the chemistry was still there. After they left having recorded the rhythm track with me, I overdubbed the rest of the guitars ,more lead vocals, and other instruments, and mixed it. I redid Phil's drumming on my own acoustic kit; no easy task because he is a great drummer , but I think I pulled off all the necessary elements of his drumming and added some of my own last ideas as well.Then I had to redo the bass because the clarity of the new tracks demanded it. So the only thing I'm not actually playing on this it the tambourine!
