I heard this played on the radio recently and it reminded me of what a great hit single it was back in 1985. It brought back good memories. All the young girls in the office thought that Paul King was a real 'Dreamboat'. A perfect Pop single.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
I heard this pop song from 1985 played on the radio recently and was inspired to have a go at recording my own version. A great pop song that features a neat full tone key change... always a nice touch in a pop single.
Lyrics
The Taste of Your Tears by Paul King I don't know about me I can't see that I have changed What I was is what I am That still remains What I love is what I see But you've just twisted me too much Tested and pried To look inside Now you can't stay The taste of your tears Tears me apart The bittersweet salt cracks my heart I don't know about me I can't see that I have changed What I was is what I am That still remains To au revoirs I have grown wise I know goodbye should mean goodbye There's no regrets Just dry your eyes Wipe your face

this song is great too, vocals are so good and dig your mixing/production skills - You'd absolutely make the most stunning version of the Hollies' long cool woman in a black dress...just sayin'.....

Great Bass sound. I too was not familiar with this one. Had to go listen to the original. I actually might like your version better. It is very true to the original. Your production is top notch o this.... These are very good vocals on this one. I have to admit I sort of checked out on 80s music. Didn't start back into current stuff until 90s when my kids were listening and playing... Which makes me think of Gin Blossoms one of the treasures for me of that era.

Great job on this cover! I had to check out the original on YouTube because I'd never heard any of their stuff before. Very close to the original and excellent production. It has a very nostalgic retro sound, so I can see why you wanted to cover it...those were the days!! :)
