Story behind the song
It is hard to imagine now a days, but this song was actually banned from most radio stations in the 1950's because they felt that it was too suggestive. The radio stations felt that the meaning of the song could be misconstrued as a song about prostitution. Funny story, but true none the less.
Lyrics
Lonely days, endless nights wishing on stars bring someone just might happen along and love love love me I've searched for love, seems like the whole wide world they say that there's a boy, somewhere for every girl Where oh where can he be, the one who's meant for me I've waited so long so blue, for a love that's true Lonely heart advertising for love Lonely heart advertising for love oh won't someone here my plea (hear my plea) Lonely heart advertising for love

The intro to this song always makes me sad when I hear my aunt Carol's voice.
