My older work is mostly MIDI based, 99% composed with a mouse by clicking notes onto a digital score. My newer work is more mixed-media, including both fairly standard MIDI work as well as recorded sections from acoustic and electric instruments.

Story behind the song
I wanted to do something a little mellower and more mysterious with this one. Less energy, more chill-out. It still has a beat, but I had fun with the ambience qualities. And now for the useless side information! Introns are non-coding regions of genes that sit inbetween the exons (coding regions), and can allow for multiple splicing patterns of the same gene.
