No band, really. Just me and a couple family members in a bedroom studio.
I am a singer/songwriter at heart, but reality has me working a full time job. I don't play in a band, but love to sit around a campfire sharing my songs with anyone willing to listen.
Story behind the song
Hunted (and served on the staff) at the Texas Shootout, a hog/javelina hunt every February. We sang around the campfire the first year and I decided I wanted to write a song about hunting that I could sing at the campfire. This was the result......and the beginning of my CD, "Gone Huntin' "

There's an annual trek each February, 'round the middle of the month or so.
It's called "The Texas Shootout"; Y'all come and bring your bows.
It's an archery only hunt for the elusive javelina.
Well, there ain't no bars, but if you got a car, in Laredo there's a cantina.

Now, you'll see lots of critters, like rattlesnakes and yodel dogs.
If you're really, really lucky, you might even see a feral hog,
But the one we're really after, the one we've come to see,
Is what's known as a javelina, or a collared peccary.
