No band, really. Just me and a couple family members in a bedroom studio.
I am a singer/songwriter at heart, but reality has me working a full time job. I don't play in a band, but love to sit around a campfire sharing my songs with anyone willing to listen.
Story behind the song
Just my way of saying how thankful I am for being able to do the things I love to do.
Lyrics
Walkin' through the woods in the pre-dawn light,
I watch the glow of the morning steal the darkness from the night.
Makin' my way to my favorite huntin' spot,
And I thank the Lord for all the things I've got.
When the sun comes up, I'll be sittin' in the stand
With my trusty longbow, lookin' out across the land,
Watchin' for the critters that just might come my way,
And I thank the Lord for givin' me this day.
I could be sittin' in an office somewhere,
Pourin' over papers, sittin' in a leather chair,
Or standin' all day, workin' on an assembly line,
Or I could be stuck in a traffic jam,
But I'd rather be right here where I am,
And I thank the Lord for givin' me this wonderful life.
Well, I'm hikin' up the mountain 'fore the break of day,
Tryin' to reach that saddle 'fore the elk come my way.
I hope that herd bull is brave enough to show his face,
And I thank the Lord for makin' such a beautiful place.
Whether trudgin' up the mountain in several feet of snow,
Or fightin' off mosquitoes in the swamps down below,
There ain't no place on earth I'd rather be,
And I thank the Lord for all he's given me.
