No band, really. Just me and a couple family members in a bedroom studio.
I am a singer/songwriter at heart, but reality has me working a full time job. I don't play in a band, but love to sit around a campfire sharing my songs with anyone willing to listen.
Story behind the song
My brother-in-law wanted to hunt so badly but never felt that he could afford it, or was not willing to put other things aside long enough to go. Instead he watched hunting videos all the time and "dreamed" about going. I got the idea for this song because of the way he was about hunting.
Lyrics
When there's huntin' to be done
I'm always out there havin' fun.
When season's done it ain't so bad,
There's still some huntin' to be had.
I turn on T.V. with remote,
Put on my favorite huntin' coat.
In goes a tape or DVD
And the season's on again for me.
I'm a video junkie,
A huntin' video junkie.
I watch alone or with a friend;
I watch 'em time and time again.
They take me back to where I've been or where I want to be.
I love to watch those Drury boys,
They teach me tactics to employ.
Watchin' Knight and Hale's a ball,
They show me ways to try new calls.
Those Realtree videos are great,
With Monster Bucks, I just can't wait
To see the new one out next year.
Those guys know how to take me there.
I'm a video junkie,
A huntin' video junkie.
I watch alone or with a friend;
I watch 'em time and time again.
They take me back to where I've been or where I want to be.
Now, I love huntin' more than most;
I'd love to hunt from coast to coast,
From Mexico to Canada
And maybe even Africa.
But time and money won't allow
So, I guess, at least for now,
I'll put in another video
And dream of when, someday, I'll go.
I'm a video junkie,
A huntin' video junkie.
I watch alone or with a friend;
I watch 'em time and time again.
They take me back to where I've been or where I want to be.
Yeah, I'm a video junkie,
A huntin' video junkie.
They take me back to where I've been or where I want to be.
