Left Hand Drive were a Bolton based band and played on the country circuit and festivals. Over the time we were together we recorded two albums of original material. The first was called 'Under The Hood' a 14 track CD recorded at Ionian Studios in Bolton. Although we were playing on the country circuit, the album had a mix of styles, meaning not what you'd call out and out country, well, when you are born and bred in Bolton, your influences are likely to be quite varied and it shows in the songs. But we thought we'd stick our necks out and go with our own stuff, rather than covers. It paid off too, we had 4 number 1 hits in the charts, the Albanian alternative music chart that is...... we wish!...that's the line Colin would use when he was trying to sell the CD's in clubs. Then we come to the second Album............ Sadly in late 2004 our drummer Colin died much too young. After a tribute night to celebrate Colins life we decided to draw a line under the band, it would never have been the same without him.we recorded two albums of original material while we were together the first album was titled Under The Hood. ‘The Big Picture’ was the second and last album. Below is a brief outline of how we completed it. All the songs are original and you’ll never have heard them before The week before Colin died he had just put down his last drum tracks over at the studio in Liverpool.We decided to finish the project as atribute to our friend and fantastic drummer. Colin sings one song on the CD called Trust me (I’m a drummer). I had written this song for Col and it more or less sums him up. This is a demo trackand was recorded at my home. Originally it wasn’t going on the album but under the circumstances we felt it should be included as a bonus track. In addition to the drums, guitar and bass of Left Hand Drive, there are strings, piano, acoustics and pedal steel. The CD was recorded in Liverpool and Birmingham and pressed at Deluxe Media in Blackburn. Cheers, Ste Bidder
