Story behind the song
I was thinking about how sin can keep a person in sort of a spiritual prison. Instead of being fed bread and water in prison, a Christian is fed on the Bread and Water of Life, Jesus.
Lyrics
Living on Bread and Water I left sin's prison yard and my heavy burden Not only pardoned, but forgiven My sins had put me there, and death seemed certain But Jesus set me free and now I'm livin' Chorus I'm living on Bread and Water , Living on Bread and Water Feasting on the Bread of Life, drinking Living Water Living on Bread and Water, Living on Bread and Water And I'll never thirst or hunger again. Verse 2 I thought that I was feasting on the finest food And wondered why I wasn't growing. The rich food of this world can never satisfy A beggar's banquet,.. cold and empty. Chorus
