Story behind the song
Another old song, written when I was 22. This version is a completely new production.
Lyrics
Oh yes, I know, I did have the intention to join some kind of perfect social life And although I preferred not to mention I saw myself involved in the capital life I sought to break up, move ahead to anywhere where I could try my ambitions Well, it had to be a change once breathing London air It had to be the solution But more than once I found myself on a park bench Surrounded by the busy city life Considering why nothing seemed important Why nothing really stuck on my mind So close to everything, and yet so far away I just had no motivation I claimed for company, and all I had to say was: "Give me more inspiration!" Well eventually I came to the conclusion I had to get my confidence retrieved In order to get rid of my confusion And find something in which I could believe I'd searched for something here to occupy my mind It had to be something "better" But I'd neglected what was going on around I sort of didn't accept it And it came to me that I'd paid too much attention to things I didn't really want to do But now I thought I'd found what was essential As a certainty inside began to grow I learned that life was more than pure philosophy It takes some more understanding to realize that there are things you just don't see Although you think you're intending So, in the end, my back to all intentions of joining this beloved social life And with the eyes of this new dimension I saw myself involved in the capital life

i like the break, especially the second part with the emotional key drop. I hear this as a repeater for the end fade...but i just like that tye of ending personally.Well, another great song. I hope you at least kind of know what im talking about! -rob

Excellent song. Interesting hearing a 22 year olds perspective on Capital Life. I often think I had so much more to say when I was younger. Really good vocals and nice mellow backing instrumentation makes this a very pleasant listen. Nice work!
Hi, Thanks for the invite and sorry it took me so long. Very good song, lyrics and story line. Keep us posted Julie

WOW... I was amazed you wrote this at the age of 22 and then revised it. Deep thoughts poured out in this tune. You know we all get stuck in doing things we don't really want to do sometimes. We get side tracked and pay too much attention to the wrong things that are really not important. So we are caught up in the social captital life. But on the other side, "The Capital Life" could be you meaning, Very rich, well rounded life...and the meaning of your song could be you thought at one point you would have "The Capital of Life" but it didn't happen. Amazing song! I love the upbeat melody and the instruments were well mixed. Nice ending...
